Frequently Asked Questions

Many of our services are covered through OAP and many of our families have received coverage. Additionally, some health care providers, such as Sunlife, Manulife, Bluecross, etc.,  also provide coverage for our services in their benefits package. However, each family case is different and it depends on a number of factors. Families are encouraged to check with insurance providers for eligible coverage of services and entitled amounts.

If you are eligible for coverage, Mandala Educational Therapy will provide you with a receipt of payment, which you can submit to the health care provider or OAP. All services are paid for by clients, and clients are responsible for submitting receipts for reimbursements. Mandala Educational Therapy will support clients in exploring all possible funding options, however, we do not guarantee coverage or funding, and are not responsible for receipt submission or reimbursement of entitled funds. Clients may also submit receipts as “medical expenses” for yearly taxes.

No referral is required to access any of our services.

We currently do not have a waitlist for our programs. If you would like your child to join a group that is in progress, we will provide alternative suggestions still suiting your child’s goals for the meantime until the group cycle is complete. In which case, your child can begin the group during the 1st week of a new group cycle.

Values of inclusion, diversity, and belonging in community undergird Mandala Educational Therapy. Through her work, studies, teaching, and research, Dr. Ajodhia has dedicated over 20 years to advocating for the rights of young people with disabilities, specifically those from diverse ethnic backgrounds with neurodevelopmental disabilities, such as ASD. She strongly believes that every young person has a right to an education alongside their peers to their maximum level of participation, and a right to feel a sense of belonging within their own circles. Mandala Educational Therapy seeks to offer a space for evidence-based learning of skills that empower young people with confidence in their schools and communities, while being creative, artful, positive, and fostering unconditional caring and friendships. It is with this mindset and vision that guide the principles and practices of Mandala  Educational Therapy.

We put families and their children first. We are flexible and adaptable to accommodate for each family and child based on circumstances. 

(3) Boutique Style Centre

We adopt a personable and “boutique style” approach at our centre - we have smaller group sizes allowing for a more focused, attentive, caring, unique and personalized learning environment, where your child has opportunities to reach their fullest potential.  

We do not provide diagnostic services. A diagnosis for your child should be obtained from a pediatrician and/or clinical psychologist. 

A formal diagnosis is not required to access any services at Mandala Educational Therapy. If you feel that your child may benefit from our programs we will conduct an intake assessment and find a program best suiting their goals and strengths.
